The Telford-based business, run by international trade expert Nicole Howarth, has recently invested in extended its Halesfield headquarters to include a new suite of offices.

And the company has appointed Anton Gunter, previously with Anglo Pacific International, to the role of National Sales Manager to spearhead a new era of growth for the company.

Mr Gunter, originally from South Africa, has more than 15 years experience in international logistics and a specialism in relocations.

He said: “I’m delighted to have joined Global Freight at a time when the award-winning independent freight forwarder is about to enter its third decade of successful operations with exciting plans for the future.

“The UK economy is on the up, which means businesses which previously might have only focused on domestic sales are now looking to start export programmes or widen the markets they are targeting overseas.

“This is where Global Freight excels, offering tailored solutions to international trade, whether in established markets or those which are emerging in developing economies.

“Increased business in the last year has come via the Far East, the BRIC countries, South Africa and Australia and we expect this trend to continue through 2015 and beyond. It will be boosted by the £45m package of support for exporters announced by the Government in December, and which will be delivered by UKTI.

Nicole added: “Anton’s extensive experience, energy and enthusiasm will be a great asset to Global Freight as we continue to develop these overseas customer networks. We’re predicting 20 per cent growth in turnover next year, and have exciting plans for our own business in 2015 – including the launch of a brand new service in a sector related to our current core business.”

As well as shipping goods across the globe, the company offers extensive advice and consultancy and has been credited with assisting scores of companies to grow their operations by being a guiding hand when they launch international trade programmes.

The company, a member of BIFA, is a recognised specialist in freight forwarding, working with UKTI and international trade teams, encouraging businesses to import, export and cross trade.
