Global focus on careers

Our managing director Anton Gunter will be heading back to the classroom this week to help young children learn about the exciting world of work.

He has been invited to speak to pupils at Tibberton CE Primary School near Newport as part of their Curious About Careers programme.

The week-long initiative has been put together by parents and staff to coincide with National Careers Week (March 4-8) and is aimed at raising the aspirations of young children by giving them a broader understanding of the types of careers available to them.

Anton said: “As a company we are committed to supporting the local community and I’m delighted to be included in this exciting initiative.

“I’ll be talking to the children about all the things we do here at Global Freight and introducing them to the types of jobs and careers which you can have in the freight/export industry.

“It should be lots of fun and I think its tremendous to be engaging children about jobs and careers at such a young age.”

As well as hearing from our MD, children involved in the project will also get to hear from a number of other guest speakers including those working in nursing, midwifery, occupational therapy and other public health roles.

They will also hear from a police officer, barrister and solicitor and will learn about jobs in microbiology, the veterinary profession and catering.

National Careers Week is all about empowering positive change through careers education in as many different ways as possible.
