This week’s Autumn Statement saw the Chancellor announce a significant investment to boost export efforts.
The strong Euro and impending Brexit make now the perfect time to dip into the export sector or expand existing activities, said international trade specialist Nicole Gunter, who runs Telford based shipping firm Global Freight.
Chancellor Philip Hammond said “no viable UK export should fail for lack of finance or insurance from the private sector”.
Nicole said the Chancellor’s announcement was a “positive step” for SMEs.
“I’m delighted to see that the Government has put their money where their mouth is and pledged more funding for export. International trade is a massive opportunity for SMEs with a chance to sell to a huge international customer base.
“The strong Euro makes UK products an attractive buy and now, with the knowledge that funding is available for export, businesses should be making it a top priority in the post Brexit world we face.”
