Small business innovation continues to drive success of UK economy

Small businesses across the UK have once again been recognised for their success and innovation at a national award ceremony.

The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) held its 2023 UK award ceremony at the National Conference Centre in Birmingham and in attendance was our managing director Anton Gunter and company founder, Nicole Gunter.

“We’ve provided continued support to the FSB Awards over the years by sponsoring the Exporter of the Year category in both the East Midlands and West Midlands regions and it is always an absolute pleasure to attend the final celebrations and meet so many of the finalists,” said Anton.

“As the premier awards for small businesses, the FSB brings together a brilliant network of forward-thinking, innovative businesses and each year we are blown away by their achievements

“This year was no different and it was terrific to see Creative Nature – which sells a range of free-from baking mixes – being crowned winner for the Exporter of the Year category. Not only are they supporting people worldwide that have allergies and food intolerances to enjoy a great-tasting range of products, they’re also big on sustainability.

“Within the UK alone, their products are stocked in some of the major retail stores and they are now exporting to 16 different countries, which is brilliant.

“As a company they have continued to seek out new international markets and they are clearly seeing the success of that hard work. The company is a great example for other small businesses that are looking to grow their brand through exporting and what can be achieved.

“There are lots of opportunities out there and we are firm believers that small business innovation is not just driving the success of the UK’s economy, it’s also driving Britain’s export trade.”
