High Demand For Asia Air Freight This Peak Season

Asia origin air freight services are already in high demand ahead of the traditional peak season, and we may be about to enter one of the highest peaks ever.

Several service routes are already witnessing low availability for space, and there have been concerns that capacity will not be able to cater for all of this year’s demand.

The Red Sea crisis has added another layer of complexity this season, where longer ocean freight services around Africa, along with unreliable schedules, have led to more demand for air freight.

Demand from the retail and ecommerce sectors are strong as we approach the busy sales periods of Black Friday and Christmas, while we are about to enter the period where new electronic product launches, such as phones and tablets, pout additional pressure on capacity.

The Asia ocean and air freight markets are fluctuating supply and demand markets, which means that high demand results in high rates, and we are already witnessing price increases on several routes. Some industry experts are predicting that this year’s peak season is going to be one of the highest ever from Asia.

Naturally, GFS are monitoring the situation closely, and recommend that customers plan to move urgent ocean freight shipments as early as possible, although we understand that is sometimes easier said than done.
