An award-winning freight company has clinched a new contract to ship bespoke gifts and souvenirs from the Far East to destinations across the globe.
Global Freight, based in the Midlands, has signed a deal with Purple Patch, a leading giftware specialist based in Dubai.
The company, led by managing director Nicole Howarth, has already transported about a dozen shipments from China and Taiwan for Purple Patch with further supply chain work planned throughout 2012.
Simon Cockings, chief executive of Purple Patch, said Global Freight had won the contract thanks to its expertise in worldwide logistics and ability to meet ‘unique’ challenges.
He said: “We are based in Dubai but require goods transported from the Far East to destinations around the globe. I contacted many freight service companies and none were more interested in the unique challenges that the nature of my business posed than Global Freight.
“The passion for their business was evident from the start. I was not particularly well versed on the complexities of logistics, but Nicole and her team are experts and have objectively walked me through the processes and procedures involved. The service provided has been faultless.”
Mrs Howarth said: “We are delighted to have won this contract and already transported around a dozen shipments for Purple Patch, mainly to Singapore and Australia.
“What this contract demonstrates is that no matter where your company is based, it is possible to trade on a global scale and we are now a vital part of Purple Patch’s supply chain for its products.”
Purple Patch is a specialist turnkey provider of high quality, commercial gifts and souvenirs working with companies including DFS Galleria, Dole Fruits and the Honolulu Coffee Company.
Mrs Howarth added: “Although we transport a range of goods, from manufactured parts for industry to security fencing, we have gained a reputation for shipping of works of art and fragile giftware across the globe, so this particular contract is an excellent fit for us.”
