We are absolutely delighted that our own Joanna Jago was named as Shropshire’s top apprentice in the recent Shropshire Business Awards 2017.
We knew Joanna was special when she applied to become our first ever freight forwarding apprentice in September 2015. Her personality and sheer determination shone through even at that first interview and she’s been making her mark on Global Freight ever since!
Joanna was up against tough competition in the apprentice category at the awards, organised by Shropshire Chamber, which makes her win all the more special!
It was praise from Global Freight clients and evidence of the profound impact she has already had in streamlining the day-to-day operations that sealed the deal for Joanna.
Managing Director Nicole Gunter was at the ceremony with Joanna at the Telford International Centre on June 23 when she was revealed as the 2017 Apprentice of the Year.
Nicole said: “We are pleased the judges recognised the progress she has made and the value she has added to Global Freight in her short time with our team.
“Being named Apprentice of the Year is a just reward for her hard work and commitment and it’s a great achievement so early on in her career. We are very proud of her.”
Joanna said: “I was so pleased just to be shortlisted so to win was a huge honour. Being an apprentice gave me the chance to learn all aspects of the business and gave me a brilliant grounding in the industry at the start of my working life.
“I am looking forward to developing my career with Global Freight and helping the business grow.”
